Connective Chess

Connective Chess was made for the GMTK Game Jam 2021.

A Simple Game of Chess, with an added ability - joining pieces together.

Connected pieces move as one, a mechanic which creates new and interesting strategies:

- Eat multiple pieces with a single move

- Pull your opponent's king out of his hiding hole

- Make the board into a jumbled mess, so that no pieces can eat your king

This is only a POC of our intented game.

The game is not a perfect game of Chess as there are many features of Chess which are missing.

The Connect ability is not perfect and should be tweaked to make the game more fun.

At the moment you have to play against a friend (or with yourself) because we did not have enough time to write an AI to play against you.

How to Play

Move pieces with Left Mouse Button.

Right Click / Press Space to activate Connect mode, then Left Click pieces in order to connect them. Each piece can only be connected other 3 pieces.

Kill the opponent's king to win.
